A. Background

A hundred years ago, exactly in 1878 founded a small club which in the future became one of the famous and even the biggest European Football Club over the world. Today, the reputation of the club is worldwide. Every people in earth know this club. But, who knows when the club founded, the name of the club it`s very different. And even who knows that the first time the club founded on railway station in England.

In 1878 founded An European Football club under name called Newton Heath LYR (Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway). The first name of Manchester United is Newton Heath LYR. This club was founded by workers in the railway yard at place called Newton Heath. They make the association of Football to play with other people who made them own club in LYR and play with other departments in one big company. Firstly, the club used for fill workers spent time and to spent spare time. But, today who knows that Newton Heath LYR became big club which has worldwide reputation.

In 1888, the football league was formed but Newton Heath LYR did not play for the league in that year. They prepare themselves from anything before they joined the league. After waited for 4 years, Newton Heath LYR played for the league in 1892 when John Henry Davies invested his money for Newton Heath LYR.

After decided to investing his money for Newton Heath LYR, John Henry Davies made some changes for the club. The name of the club was change. There are several options to change the name including Manchester Central or Manchester Celtic. The name of Manchester become from the name of the town. After 10 years, Manchester United was born in April/ May 1902 and 7 years later Old Trafford started to build.
In 1940`s to 1949 after the world war II, Manchester United became broken, their stadium being attacked on the war. The German air bombed the stadium and the attack destroyed the main stand, dressing rooms and the office.

Today, Manchester United is 107 years old. That`s long time for a Football Club. Right now, Manchester United is a professional English club currently playing in the English Premier Division/ Barclay Premiere League. The Club playing their homes matches at Old Trafford. Several famous football players playing in Manchester United like Sir Mat Busby, Eric Cantona, Sir Bobby Charlton, Steve Bruce, Christiano Ronaldo, Rio Ferdinand, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Peter Schmeichel. The Club has fierce rivalry with Liverpool, Manchester city and Leeds United. Over 100 years, Manchester United also has new rival to get the English Premier League except Liverpool like Arsenal, Chelsea. Manchester United has a nickname called The Red Devil`s, this nickname came from the symbol of Manchester United. Manchester United also has Football academy, the alumnus are very famous player, like David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and many more.

The Old Trafford stadium also well known as Theatre of Dreams because every football player has a dream to play on there. The stadium condition is very good with under soil heating technology and there is no roof on there because it will makes the grass low of light.
